Exciting News Here On Our Funny Farm

 Hello! How is your day going? Mine is good! I have some very exciting news to share with all of my friends here in Blog Land. Coming July 2023, our family is expanding as we will be grandparents again! My oldest daughter and her husband are expecting! 

She chose a fun way to share her secret with us and I have to share it with my friends here. 



A few weeks ago, she asked us to meet them for dinner and after we had eaten our meal, we were presented with a box to open. This is what I seen when I opened the box. A Grandma and Grandpa Start Over Kit. I was excited and shocked. I love this idea as now I have a few things ready for the new bundle of joy! 


Being that they struggled on having a child due to a previous situation that her husband had occur, I was thrilled that they finally had conceived a child she wanted desperately. I worry due to her Lyme Disease and another health issue she has, but now that the pregnancy is almost to the first trimester being finished, my worries are less and I am happily looking forward to shopping for this new little bundle of joy.


As most of you know, my other two grands have been a bit of  a surprise at birth and so to prepare for one the way most get to is exciting all in it's own. I am praying for a grandson,  but will love a granddaughter just as much. Grandpa would like a grandson as well. I just want him or her to be healthy and ready to tackle this crazy world we live in. Boy or girl doesn't really matter as much as we seem to think it does. I was actually able to go to her last doctors' appointment and hear the heartbeat with her and see the first wave that the baby seemed to do. Never have got to hear the heartbeat of a new grandbaby before birth and that sure does put things into a whole new perspective as you know that your child is carrying another life within her. 


I have babbled enough about this little one. Just be prepared for many more excited grandparents posts as we begin to shop and enjoy the precious moments of this pregnancy. If you pray, please pray for an uncomplicated pregnancy and birth and a healthy baby!

 As I was looking through my posts today, I see that I have failed my readers. Many of you were aware that my other daughter was pregnant and going to deliver in July, I am sure those of you that knew are wondering why I never posted about that and I must say that life has just gotten in the way, and I thought that I had written a post. Since I know I did not, I will now! He came when Mamaw was out of town! Can you believe that? He actually had the nerve to do something so ridiculous as to come while I was at the Pink Zebra reunion (our annual conference). I was with four of my best friends when we got the announcement that he was here! I was so happy that I was able to share that news with them before anyone else. Of course, the leaders of the company were there and anxious to hear how she was doing as well.  Deliver went fairly smooth, but she was in labor for quite a while. Something is Falling From The Sky

 Yesterday and today have been very cool days here on the farm and I must say that something that we don't recognize has been falling from the sky. It is wet and seems to be hanging around. IT is certainly what the ground needed as it seems to have soaked it up almost immediately. Rain, glorious rain!! The ducks are loving their pool and the rain, but I truly don't think that they are liking the cooler temperatures so much. I know I am not. I don't mind cool, but wearing my sweatshirt in June is not fun.  The white turkeys are enjoying the coop that my husband put together for them. We have 5 of them and two others. We won't be keeping all of the toms as we have too many.  Nesting boxes made of milk crates that we had lying around work well attached to the back wall.  Here is Tom. Happy Homemaker Monday - Jan. 15,2024

 Good Monday morning ladies, how are you? It is super cold here, but I am thankful for our wood stove and plenty of good heat. I am joining Sandra over at  Diary of a Stay At Home Mom  for the Happy Homemaker Monday link up party. She is so kind to host this weekly and there are many of us bloggers that enjoy this weekly post.  The Weather: Cold, snowy, below zero wind chills and temperatures of a night. I believe our high for the day is to be 7 degrees F. BRR!!!!!! I hate winter when it is like this. I don't mind cold, but I don't like Artic cold. I am not a fan of the ice that occurs when we have temperatures like this.  Right Now, I Am: Sitting at my desk drinking coffee. As I look out the window, I see a bit of snow and maybe a bit of a sunrise. It is about -18 degrees with the windchill and so it looks cold!
