Gray Clouds on Sun Day

Image
Yes, it is Sunday but you would not know that by looking at the dark gloomy and gray clouds that are looming over us. The entire weekend has been a nasty one! Since Friday we have had some real gullyworshers as my grandparents would say. I know Friday night we had more than two inches of rain in less than 30 minutes. How crazy! As I look at the radar, it seems that the weather man is right that we are going to see quite a bit of rain before it is over and that it will continue for several days. I pray that it stops soon and I pray that by next weekend, the entire storm system is out of here as my friends and I are going on a small birthday celebration trip. The farm is simply drenched! The pasture is simply a mud pit and the poor horses are certainly enjoying the barn. I feel for them as there is so much mud! I am always worried that one will break a leg or something struggling with the mud. The duck pen is a muddy mess as well. It could be a pig s...

Girls Room Decor

Image
Hello! Many of you may be aware that I have recently turned my daughters' bedroom into my office/craft room and a bedroom for my grand doll. With them living next door, some wonder why I feel the need to have a bedroom for her, but I do. I adore her and I enjoy letting her spend the night when we are not busy and I am not too tired. For years, I have enjoyed crafts and DIY projects but ....... the truth is that I am not great at them. I want to be, but I feel so insecure at times. However, I am so impressed with the projects that I have taken on that I am going to share them with you.  This was my first idea and I must say that I am thrilled with the plaque. I love the castle and I am sure that it is the perfect place to start with a princess theme. I honestly did not set out to do that theme in the room, but it seems to be what I am doing. I loved the color scheme on the castle so well that I decided that the colors on the plaque must go with it. The crown is simply gold...

New Etsy Shop

Hello! I have been busy with many projects and I am adding yet another to my list of things to do. I have opened an Etsy shop. I am calling it Brown County Naturals and I hope to add natural soaps and other items soon. I have one item listed currently and will be doing more soon.  We will be listing our finished crafts as well as some craft items as we move along this journey. My husband never seems to have faith in what I do and I am setting up this shop so that my daughters and I can possibly work from home together. Please check out my shop Brown County Naturals . Look for new items each Friday and Monday.

Rays of Color

As I woke around sunrise today and have enjoyed my quiet time before the world and this household begins the hustle and bustle of another day, I have been reminded of just how precious life is and what miracles we see around us.  My computer desk sits near a window that looks to the East and so I can see the beautiful sun rises as they occur if I am busy here. This morning I have been blessed with an array of colors. As I first looked to see what the day might hold, the sky was a magnificent color of pink with almost a purple hue to the bottom of it. For some reason, it made me think of how precious newborn babies are, Little girls with pretty pink ribbons and bows are just a small part of their lives. As a grown up, I am rediscovering a certain love for pink.  Now as I look out, the sky is an amazing mix of orange and yellow and almost have a peach color to it. The upper part is more the yellow but with the deeper orange color to the bottom, it is simply a soothing color th...
