Yes, it is Sunday but you would not know that by looking at the dark gloomy and gray clouds that are looming over us. The entire weekend has been a nasty one! Since Friday we have had some real gullyworshers as my grandparents would say. I know Friday night we had more than two inches of rain in less than 30 minutes. How crazy!
As I look at the radar, it seems that the weather man is right that we are going to see quite a bit of rain before it is over and that it will continue for several days. I pray that it stops soon and I pray that by next weekend, the entire storm system is out of here as my friends and I are going on a small birthday celebration trip.
The farm is simply drenched! The pasture is simply a mud pit and the poor horses are certainly enjoying the barn. I feel for them as there is so much mud! I am always worried that one will break a leg or something struggling with the mud. The duck pen is a muddy mess as well. It could be a pig sty and no one would know the difference.
I believe that the chickens are even hiding today! Why should they get wet? We truly don't need the roosters to crow for us to be up. I am sure that they start much earlier than we do.
As I sit here now writing, I am hearing another round of showers move in and more clouds are covering the home as it is getting quite dark. I will be glad when the weather system moves on and gives us back some nice weather soon.
Our life is one of fun, but hard work on our hobby farm. Horses, chickens, dogs, cats, ducks, guineas, pigs, and many other animals can reside here and we love every minute of it! This blog will be a variety of things as well as my thoughts on current events.

Girls Room Decor
Hello! Many of you may be aware that I have recently turned my daughters' bedroom into my office/craft room and a bedroom for my grand doll. With them living next door, some wonder why I feel the need to have a bedroom for her, but I do. I adore her and I enjoy letting her spend the night when we are not busy and I am not too tired.
For years, I have enjoyed crafts and DIY projects but ....... the truth is that I am not great at them. I want to be, but I feel so insecure at times. However, I am so impressed with the projects that I have taken on that I am going to share them with you.
This was my first idea and I must say that I am thrilled with the plaque. I love the castle and I am sure that it is the perfect place to start with a princess theme. I honestly did not set out to do that theme in the room, but it seems to be what I am doing. I loved the color scheme on the castle so well that I decided that the colors on the plaque must go with it.

The crown is simply gold ( after all, what other color would it be?) but I used the same color scheme to do the letters of her name as I did the castle plaque. The letters are in alternate pink and purple. My favorite color is purple and my business is Pink Zebra so I believe that the colors work perfect together. The gold simply sets the crown apart and makes it stand out a little more.
I decided that I will list these two items in my Etsy shop. I will make new ones if these sell. I will be listing other crafts that I complete there as well. I intend to do more painting as it seems to be what I enjoy the most. Time brings more patience and better items. I will be adding to my Pink Zebra business there as well. I have lots of ideas on what I hope to accomplish this year personally and professionally.
I pray that you had a blessed Easter and I look forward to talking with many of you soon.

New Etsy Shop
Hello! I have been busy with many projects and I am adding yet another to my list of things to do. I have opened an Etsy shop. I am calling it Brown County Naturals and I hope to add natural soaps and other items soon. I have one item listed currently and will be doing more soon.
We will be listing our finished crafts as well as some craft items as we move along this journey. My husband never seems to have faith in what I do and I am setting up this shop so that my daughters and I can possibly work from home together.
Please check out my shop Brown County Naturals. Look for new items each Friday and Monday.

Rays of Color
As I woke around sunrise today and have enjoyed my quiet time before the world and this household begins the hustle and bustle of another day, I have been reminded of just how precious life is and what miracles we see around us.
My computer desk sits near a window that looks to the East and so I can see the beautiful sun rises as they occur if I am busy here. This morning I have been blessed with an array of colors. As I first looked to see what the day might hold, the sky was a magnificent color of pink with almost a purple hue to the bottom of it. For some reason, it made me think of how precious newborn babies are, Little girls with pretty pink ribbons and bows are just a small part of their lives. As a grown up, I am rediscovering a certain love for pink.
Now as I look out, the sky is an amazing mix of orange and yellow and almost have a peach color to it. The upper part is more the yellow but with the deeper orange color to the bottom, it is simply a soothing color that I am certain would be a wonderful color for my kitchen if I could just find it in a can of paint. As I looked out, I had just been reading a post from Diana, a fellow blogger, about prayer for a young woman that is facing some uncertainties with a pregnancy and the yellow reminded me of a nursery that I had seen many years ago. The woman did not want to know the sex of the child and so she had used more gender neutral colors of yellow and green. It was a beautiful room and showcased her planning and anticipation for the child. How awful, it must be for this woman that is fighting for her life and well of that for her child and how scared her family must be. My prayers go up to the one that we know can handle this request. You can read more about it on Diana's blog.
I am not sure what the weather is to be here today although I know we are in for a warm up. I pray that the afternoon is nice enough to be outside some and I pray that we see some sunshine. I know we are to have multiple days of rain this week and that upsets me. I have things that I would like to accomplish this week both inside and out so I need to stay busy and I need to be able to be outside some. Spring is not feeling much like spring here, but January and February certainly gave us some warm spring type days.
As you go about your day, remember that we can bring color into someone's life. Either a warm inviting color or that of sorrow and despair. I pray that I bring the warm and inviting color in.
