Happy Homemaker # 4 - February 21, 2022

 Good Morning! Happy President's Day to all my American friends!!  This is a day that we celebrate George Washington's birthday. Many of you are off work today due to it being a national holiday as well as banks and post offices being closed.

I was unable to post last week as I simply ran out of time due to appointments and my Pink Zebra business. I did not even get to read any of the posts, so I am hoping that I have time to go back through most of them this week as it is not quite as full of a week. Recovery from surgery is going as expected and I have a follow up later this morning. For those that are not aware of what Happy Homemaker posts are please take a look at Sandra's blog and read what the excitement is about.

 :::: The Weather ::::

Well, we are on quite a roller coaster of temperatures for the week. We are to get to 61 degrees today and have snow on Thursday. How crazy is that! Yesterday it was sunny and in the mid 50's, which I enjoyed greatly. I need the sun! It is important to my overall health, as it makes me happier and much calmer.

:::: How I am feeling this morning ::::

 I feel optimistic about my follow up and I feel at peace with having this surgery finished. I pray that recovery is not as slow as last time and that I am walking without pain as well. I have a toe on the other foot that has some scar tissue built up and needs to be broken loose, but it will get there I hope. I am feeling more peace in my life and my motto for the year is to not allow others to steal my joy. I will do what makes me happy as long as it is not hurtful to someone else. Marital issues have been a huge concern for me in recent months and I have decided that I won't allow that to steal joy from me and anger me anymore. I will continue to strive to make our marriage stronger as I do not feel my husband has physically cheated on me, but I believe there is an emotional bond that I am doing my best to stop before it goes farther or I am disrespected anymore.

:::: On the breakfast plate ::::

Being that I am rather busy this morning, I am going to enjoy a bowl of instant oatmeal. Not my favorite thing in the world, but it will be a quick and easy breakfast. I also will enjoy a hot cup of coffee as I do every morning.

 :::: On my reading pile ::::

I am still reading the same book as last week, Dark Summer by Iris Johansen.

It is a good book, but I took a break from reading as I was getting tired of sitting in one spot so much to read and I needed something else to do with my time. That is the one thing about being unable to walk is that I am so bored with most things.

:::: On my TV ::::

I have watched so many shows that I truly don't care about, but I do enjoy My Big, Fat, Fabulous Life and had several episodes on the dvr so I have watched most of those not. I think Whitney Thore is an amazing young woman and I hope there are more seasons of this show.  The self confidence I see in her when she is leading a dance class is simply amazing.

:::: On the menu this week ::::

Since I am not doing much cooking, I don't have many meals planned, but here are the few that I know of.

Monday: Pork roast with garlic/herb seasoning, potatoes, carrots, and maybe green beans with cheddar biscuits.

Tuesday: Ribs, corn, and some pasta

Wednesday: Fish sticks, macaroni and cheese and peas

It is a start to the week, correct? My husband doesn't like planned meals, but I need the structure to make having meats unthawed easier. He truly doesn't see the benefit of it. He changes his mind too quickly in what he might want.

 :::: From the camera ::::

I haven't been anywhere to take any photos, but I will share one of my fun activities that I have done in the past.

These were taken at a local orchard where there are many areas for walking, seeing animals, children to play and other activities as well as the market there.

:::: Looking around the house ::::

 Oh my! Where does my list begin? There are so many things that need cleaned and I need to paint, my office needs some more storage. The dog is lazing in the sun and I see dog hair most places I look. Who knew a Great Dane would shed so bad? I am thankful for the work that my husband has done, but I wish he cleaned as I do.

::::  To do List ::::

Monday: Doctor's appointment, write this post, meet with a Pink Zebra team member to talk about her first event, get pork roast in crockpot, get mail ready for post office tomorrow.

Tuesday: Post office, bank, place PZ order, work in office

Wednesday: team training, get game night set up, blog post, update reading sites

Thursday: finalize game night prep, Game Night, fill orders

Friday: Print out weekly paper work, add receipts to tax file, print monthly paperwork for March, finalize all Feb sales, list bath bombs for daughter, spend some time with my husband.

WOW! That wears me out just writing about it. I can't image doing all of it.

 :::: Today's Devotional::::

1 Kings 19:12 KJV

and after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice
This is talking of God speaking to Elijah on Mount Horeb and though God could have spoken in any way, He spoke in a small tiny voice. Sometimes, I feel we need God to write things in the sky, make an earthquake, fire, flood, or loud fireworks to catch our attention. We need to hear these tiny small voice things the same way.

I hope you all have a fabulous day! Listen for the small voice of God! It might be your biggest message yet!

An Outing

 Oh the joys of being able to be out of the house and among living, breathing people is fabulous! Yes, I was able to leave the house two days this week. I left on Tuesday and Wednesday and it felt great. The weather was cooperating and my foot was not bothering me so I left. My youngest daughter and I went to my older daughters' house on Tuesday to drop off my youngest grand doll so that she could spend some time with her aunt and uncle. While we were there, we went into town and done some shopping- Goodwill and Dollar Tree. I forgot to get photos of my purchases though.

I enjoy my time with both of my girls and its nice to share some time with them together. They have very different personalities and really are not as close as they should be. I hope that at some time they find a way to get much closer. They are both such sweet young ladies and the older one just found her way in life a little better than the other one.

Since I don't have much today. I will share a sunrise photo with you.

,Happy Homemaker #3 Feb. 7,2022

Hello everyone! Sorry that I am so late to join this week, but recovery has sure been tough with this surgery. I have been at my daughter's house much longer than I expected to be and so I am trying to run my business and three households all away from home. UGH! It is crazy!! Anyway, let's get started with our Happy Homemaker post today. If you aren't aware of what this is, check out Sandra's post here

                                                :::: The Weather ::::

I must say that I would like it to be warmer and sunnier than it is. We survived the winter storm last week, but we still have plenty of snow on the ground and it is just cold today and cloudy outside. The temperatures are to be a bit better this week and the sun is to shine some, so I hope it is better tomorrow.

:::: How I am feeling this morning ::::

I am feeling okay considering all I have been through recently with my surgery. I have my next follow up appointment on Thursday and it will be four weeks post op. I hope stitches will come out and some of the swelling has gone down. I would like to go into the walking boot to walk, but he said 6-8 weeks non weight bearing.

:::: On the breakfast plate :::

I did not eat breakfast this morning as I am feeling a bit nauseous. I did drink two cups of coffee though. My daughter and I have found a delicious blueberry honey coffee and a blueberry cobbler coffee that we like.  I would like to eat now, but I am not sure it is a good idea.

 :::: On my reading pile ::::

I am currently reading Dark Summer by Iris Johansen. So far I am enjoying it. My son bought it as my Christmas gift since he knew that I was going to be down for a bit and would need some reading material. He knows I love mystery stories so this is one of the four that I got.

  :::: On my TV ::::

My daughter and I binge watched a show on Discovery + this weekend called Undercover and Underage and it was really neat. It's a group of people that are gathering evidence to pass onto police and detectives of people who are attempting to meet and have sex with underage kids. They are in chat rooms and on phone calls and video calls with the creeps that are trying to steal our children's innocence and childhood from them. I applaud them for the work they are doing! Parent's: Take Warning- Your children need to be taught limits on the net!!!

  :::: On the menu this week ::::

I know we are having Chinese tonight for dinner. We are having pot stickers, egg rolls, and fried rice. My daughter does the cooking so I just go with the flow. I generally am not picky as to what I eat, as long as I have food. I like to eat!

  :::: From the camera ::::

I personally don't have any photos this week. I am going to share a photo though of a new Shade  from my Pink Zebra  business. I am super excited about our spring catalog and anxious for our rally for this year. This is our adorable Sea Turtle shade over a Simmering Light!

  :::: Looking around the house ::::

It is clean and picked up from our very lazy weekend. My son in law was home for 5 days in a row due to the snow and the weekend. He helped my daughter get her office started so not much else got done. We attended church yesterday and then we were lazy the rest of the day. My daughter has cleaned today and I done the dishes for her. She is currently working in her office and doing laundry.

 :::: Today's devotional ::::

My verse for today is Psalm 23:4   Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and they staff they comfort me.

Have a fabulous Monday!!!!

Snow Storm

 Well, I realize that the weather is crazy all over the country right now,  but I will tell you that Indiana is getting heavy snow at the moment. I am more northern Indiana at the moment. At home, they are getting rain currently, but they are predicted to get snow in the wee hours of tomorrow morning. We got some rain, freezing rain, and snow.

I will be praying for each of you to stay safe wherever you are in the universe. As a side note, I was able to pick up a few of the free N 95 masks that the government is giving away free yesterday at Meijer when we picked up by prescriptions. I was supposed to go to the podiatrist tomorrow, but they called today and said they would be closed. They made a temporary appointment for Friday, but not sure that will happen either.

I am thinking I will go home mid week next week as my daughter has plans next weekend and she has a trip planned for the following week. I don't really want to stay by myself, if I can get home. I have a knee scooter now and I will begin using it for short amounts of time. I am still fairly weak and tire out easily.

How is the weather where you are? I know Topeka, Kansas got hit really hard. I have not seen reports on anyplace else at the moment. I do know that Florida is struggling with low temperatures in the 30's. Do you have rain, snow, a mixed bag or sunshine?

Compliments of Google Images

Whomever is in the path of this winter storm, I will be praying for each of you. Power
 outages are expected and dangerous travel.
