Thanksgiving Thanks

The day of giving thanks is upon us and for those that are traveling I bid you safe travels to and from your destination. For those that are home, I bid you a blessed day full of love and family. We will be home today celebrating with family and then we will travel to my daughter's new house on Saturday for a celebration there as well. Our son will be here today with his girlfriend, (that is going to be fiancé soon- SHH!) as well as our youngest daughter, her boyfriend, the grand doll, and my father in law and my mom.

I will be cooking dinner today and then Saturday, I simply get to enjoy the day! I am thrilled about that! My Thanksgiving wish is that one day I am able to sit and watch the Macy's parade thru it's entirety without cooking. I think I may be dreaming that will ever happen. For those that are cooking, I pray that everything turns out perfect. I have my turkey on and I am getting ready to start the ham. I have potatoes almost ready to go in the pan and I have my cranberry sauce chilled. Pumpkin pies are ready and banana pies will be soon. I will get the veggies into the pans soon and they will be cooking away without much worry.
I pray that the day is filled with love for each of you and I want to say how very thankful that I am for my blog friends. A few of you, I have connected with more than others, but I must say that I am thankful for each of you.

    Carol, not just on Thanksgiving, but each and every day I get to meet new people who visit my blog or who I meet through others' blogs is a day of thanksgiving. We are all so very connected by our love of home and family, our hobbies, and our concerns.  As I was looking through my posts today, I see that I have failed my readers. Many of you were aware that my other daughter was pregnant and going to deliver in July, I am sure those of you that knew are wondering why I never posted about that and I must say that life has just gotten in the way, and I thought that I had written a post. Since I know I did not, I will now! He came when Mamaw was out of town! Can you believe that? He actually had the nerve to do something so ridiculous as to come while I was at the Pink Zebra reunion (our annual conference). I was with four of my best friends when we got the announcement that he was here! I was so happy that I was able to share that news with them before anyone else. Of course, the leaders of the company were there and anxious to hear how she was doing as well.  Deliver went fairly smooth, but she was in labor for quite a while. Something is Falling From The Sky

 Yesterday and today have been very cool days here on the farm and I must say that something that we don't recognize has been falling from the sky. It is wet and seems to be hanging around. IT is certainly what the ground needed as it seems to have soaked it up almost immediately. Rain, glorious rain!! The ducks are loving their pool and the rain, but I truly don't think that they are liking the cooler temperatures so much. I know I am not. I don't mind cool, but wearing my sweatshirt in June is not fun.  The white turkeys are enjoying the coop that my husband put together for them. We have 5 of them and two others. We won't be keeping all of the toms as we have too many.  Nesting boxes made of milk crates that we had lying around work well attached to the back wall.  Here is Tom. Happy Homemaker Monday - Jan. 15,2024

 Good Monday morning ladies, how are you? It is super cold here, but I am thankful for our wood stove and plenty of good heat. I am joining Sandra over at  Diary of a Stay At Home Mom  for the Happy Homemaker Monday link up party. She is so kind to host this weekly and there are many of us bloggers that enjoy this weekly post.  The Weather: Cold, snowy, below zero wind chills and temperatures of a night. I believe our high for the day is to be 7 degrees F. BRR!!!!!! I hate winter when it is like this. I don't mind cold, but I don't like Artic cold. I am not a fan of the ice that occurs when we have temperatures like this.  Right Now, I Am: Sitting at my desk drinking coffee. As I look out the window, I see a bit of snow and maybe a bit of a sunrise. It is about -18 degrees with the windchill and so it looks cold!
