Joining The Happy Homemaker Series

Good Morning everyone! I have decided that I would like to join in the Happy Homemaker series for awhile with Sandra from Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. I usually struggle at times to find things to write about, but this will motivate me to write on Monday and I will link up when she posts this week.

The weather.....  Right now is not bad. I believe it is about 40 degrees, but it is supposed to drop all day today and we are to have rain, turning to snow with an inch or two accumulation. I will be sure to get pictures if it snows! 

Right now I am.... enjoying a glass of tea while I am brewing my cup of Caramel Crumb Cake coffee. 

Thinking.... about what I need to do today before the bad weather comes in. The news weather man says it will be slick this afternoon. 

On my reading pile.... I am reading "Spirit of the Season" by Fern Michaels. I don't have any other books from the library so will certainly be making a trip this week. 

On my TV.....mainly Hallmark movies or Lifetime. Nothing is currently on as I enjoy the quiet of the morning. I wish I could shut off the fan of the refrigerator. 

Favorite blog post last week (mine or other)....  Linda's Life Journal. I follow Miss Linda on here as I enjoy her blog so much. I especially enjoyed this post where she shows off her Santa paintings and shares a little about each of them.

Blog hopping (newly discovered blog)....  I recently discovered Blondie's Journal and I like her style so I will be a new fan. You can find it here.

On the menu for this week....
     Rib eye steaks, baked potatoes, lima beans
     Beef stew or vegetable soup
     Pear Marinated Pork Roast, Scalloped Potatoes, Green Beans
     5 Bean Soup, Cornbread
     Pork Chops or Hamburgers

On my to do list....
   Run errands with daughter
   Go to library
   CVS to get prescriptions
    Clean the bathroom
   Give the dog another flea treatment
   Wipe off kitchen cabinets

In the craft basket.... My grand doll's quilt that I am attempting to make. I have never quilted and never been big on sewing, but I am trying to make a quilt. 

Looking forward to this week.... Spending time with the grand doll and  my oldest daughter will be here on Wednesday. I enjoy time spent with her. 

Looking around the house.... I realize just how much I need to do and wondering why I have not started the Christmas decor yet. I love Christmas!

Just two of my favorite people! Looks like a Play- Doh morning on this day. 

On my prayer list..... peace for the world, justice for those wrongly convicted, my friends, my family and all of my readers. 

Bible verse, Devotional.... I have not completed my Bible study for the morning, but I love Proverbs 3:5 is one of my favorite verses. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

    Good for you! I love reading all of your answers! That Bible verse is one of my favorites and my prayer list contains the same! CUTEST little Granddoll using her imagination! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

 As I was looking through my posts today, I see that I have failed my readers. Many of you were aware that my other daughter was pregnant and going to deliver in July, I am sure those of you that knew are wondering why I never posted about that and I must say that life has just gotten in the way, and I thought that I had written a post. Since I know I did not, I will now! He came when Mamaw was out of town! Can you believe that? He actually had the nerve to do something so ridiculous as to come while I was at the Pink Zebra reunion (our annual conference). I was with four of my best friends when we got the announcement that he was here! I was so happy that I was able to share that news with them before anyone else. Of course, the leaders of the company were there and anxious to hear how she was doing as well.  Deliver went fairly smooth, but she was in labor for quite a while. I am not sure on hours, but I think about 6 hours. There were some issues with my daughter following delivery

Something is Falling From The Sky

 Yesterday and today have been very cool days here on the farm and I must say that something that we don't recognize has been falling from the sky. It is wet and seems to be hanging around. IT is certainly what the ground needed as it seems to have soaked it up almost immediately. Rain, glorious rain!! The ducks are loving their pool and the rain, but I truly don't think that they are liking the cooler temperatures so much. I know I am not. I don't mind cool, but wearing my sweatshirt in June is not fun.  The white turkeys are enjoying the coop that my husband put together for them. We have 5 of them and two others. We won't be keeping all of the toms as we have too many.  Nesting boxes made of milk crates that we had lying around work well attached to the back wall.  Here is Tom. He is such a great boy, but he likes to show off. He gets along well with the chickens.  These are my Old English chickens. I like them as they are small and will never get much bigger. I actu

Happy Homemaker Monday - 1/8/24

 Hello! Welcome to my first Happy Homemaker Monday post for 2024. I am happy to join Sandra at  Diary of A Stay At Home Mom  to participate in this series. How has everyone's Monday morning been so far? Mine is slow as most Mondays, but I will be busy later. I really need to work on my direct sales business and get my inventory done for the year. Taxes will be soon and I need that information.  The Weather: The weather is predicted to be a little unsettled this week with periods of rain and snow throughout the week. Daytime highs in the 30's and 40's, which is a bit above average with lows in the upper 20's and lower 30's. Not too bad for this time of the year. I hate the rain as it just makes the farm a muddy, sloppy mess.  Right Now I Am: Sitting at my desk listening to the news and writing this post.
