Another Spring Day

 Well, with temperatures near 75 degrees today, it looks to be another spring like day here in the Midwest. As with all the other days with temperatures like this, we are to have a cold front move through and it is to turn much cooler tomorrow with highs in the mid 40's and possible wintery mix on Friday. 

It has been nice to do some work outside though. I added some solar lights to our front flower bed and I cleaned some bird feeders as well. I put new suet cakes out for the woodpeckers and other birds. I rearranged some of the outside décor and just tidied things up a bit around here. It seems as though winter has given us so much wind that many things are out of place and need to be cleaned up.

I have enjoyed the new chicken coop quite a bit and look forward to spending time watching the chickens once we get our bench set up and we get my office, which will be near it completed. I am more than ready to move into that office! 

I planned to do a Happy Homemaker post today, but it just did not seem to happen. Maybe next week. My grand daughter was sent home today with what the school believed to be pink eye, but the doctor says it was just an infection. I am happy about that. Lots to do, so I better close this for now.

    Love when the weather cooperates and things can be done outside. Hubby has been loading up our Green Waste can every week for the last 3 with trimmed branches off the redwoods that are totally out of hand. Big job but it looks so much better. Now if it will stop raining so we can get to the weeds before they get too big and dried out..there's always something for sure.
    We have the "promise" of another storm coming in this weekend. Need the water but, I sure am over it.

    Always nice to get outside and get things done. We've had 2 days of rain so far and more predicted for tomorrow but I keep thinking how wonderfully green everything is going to be soon. Hope your granddaughter's eye isn't bothering her too much.

 As I was looking through my posts today, I see that I have failed my readers. Many of you were aware that my other daughter was pregnant and going to deliver in July, I am sure those of you that knew are wondering why I never posted about that and I must say that life has just gotten in the way, and I thought that I had written a post. Since I know I did not, I will now! He came when Mamaw was out of town! Can you believe that? He actually had the nerve to do something so ridiculous as to come while I was at the Pink Zebra reunion (our annual conference). I was with four of my best friends when we got the announcement that he was here! I was so happy that I was able to share that news with them before anyone else. Of course, the leaders of the company were there and anxious to hear how she was doing as well.  Deliver went fairly smooth, but she was in labor for quite a while. Something is Falling From The Sky

 Yesterday and today have been very cool days here on the farm and I must say that something that we don't recognize has been falling from the sky. It is wet and seems to be hanging around. IT is certainly what the ground needed as it seems to have soaked it up almost immediately. Rain, glorious rain!! The ducks are loving their pool and the rain, but I truly don't think that they are liking the cooler temperatures so much. I know I am not. I don't mind cool, but wearing my sweatshirt in June is not fun.  The white turkeys are enjoying the coop that my husband put together for them. We have 5 of them and two others. We won't be keeping all of the toms as we have too many.  Nesting boxes made of milk crates that we had lying around work well attached to the back wall.  Here is Tom. Happy Homemaker Monday - Jan. 15,2024

 Good Monday morning ladies, how are you? It is super cold here, but I am thankful for our wood stove and plenty of good heat. I am joining Sandra over at  Diary of a Stay At Home Mom  for the Happy Homemaker Monday link up party. She is so kind to host this weekly and there are many of us bloggers that enjoy this weekly post.  The Weather: Cold, snowy, below zero wind chills and temperatures of a night. I believe our high for the day is to be 7 degrees F. BRR!!!!!! I hate winter when it is like this. I don't mind cold, but I don't like Artic cold. I am not a fan of the ice that occurs when we have temperatures like this.  Right Now, I Am: Sitting at my desk drinking coffee. As I look out the window, I see a bit of snow and maybe a bit of a sunrise. It is about -18 degrees with the windchill and so it looks cold!
