Happy Homemaker Monday

**THE WEATHER**
        It is cool, but supposed to warm up a little today. I think we are to have rain some this week as well. I am ready for some upper 60's and lower 70's.

**HOW I AM FEELING THIS MORNING**
       Bummed! It seems as though we are going to have to cancel our trip to Alabama due to this corona virus outbreak. Every time my husband and I have a trip planned something happens. We are staying in a friends' condo, so I was not worried about our lodging, but I am worried about food, gas, etc. 

**ON MY MIND**
       This virus and how our country has reacted to it. I wonder if we will see this happen more and more as other flu outbreaks in the future. I am worried that my husband could suffer from this if he was to get it and he is with people on a daily basis. I am worried what this is doing to our economy and the impact that it will have on others that struggle now. 

**ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE**
      Oatmeal as it is  fast breakfast and I am taking a friend of ours to see my daughter's house today. It needs to be a quick breakfast so that I am able to leave quickly. It is a 2 hour drive to see her. 

**ON MY READING PILE**
       I just finished House of Eire by June Gilliam and it was such a good book. The beginning was a little slow, but I rated it three out of 4. I found it on Amazon and it is the book of the month on the online book club that I am trying to get involved in to write reviews for. 

**ON MY TV**
      I have two or three episodes of New Amsterdam recorded to watch. I hopefully can watch this week. 

**ON THE MENU THIS WEEK**
       I will be doing several sheet pan meals this week to use up some of the fresh vegetables that I have in the fridge. I hope that I will be able to get out to stock up on more once these are gone. 

**FROM THE CAMERA**
        
These are two ducks that I recently added to the farm. Unfortunately, the female flew out of the coop before we got the top on it. The fence is rather large and I have never had any of my ducks get out of it. I still have the male though. I will purchase another female soon. 

*LOOKING AROUND THE HOUSE**
     Things are pretty good. I cleaned over the weekend. I will sanitize a few things tomorrow, but I will need to vacuum again as well. 

**CHORE I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO TODAY OR THIS WEEK**
     I need to do some yard work and I am not looking forward to it as I know it will be a muddy mess. 

**TO RELAX THIS WEEK, I WILL**
      Read! I enjoy reading and so I find that it is a relaxing activity for me as well as taking long walks. 

**ON MY PRAYER LIST**
       The Corona Virus and all those impacted by it here and around the world. 
       My friends and family
       That my daughter's work doesn't shut down due to this virus.
        The healthcare workers that can't leave their jobs. Doctors and nurses, those working in healthcare facilities. Retail workers that are being pushed to limits these days.
       Protection, as I truly believe the crime rate is going to highly increase in the next few months as people struggle to find ways to survive. We are not a society that is able to fend for ourselves like our ancestors did.

    Sorry for your trip falling through. Lots of disappointments from cancelled plans and events out there. Understanding the reasons certainly doesn't take away all the disappointments. I'd like to get out and do some yard-work but we too, have mud most likely. Hope you have a great week!

      Thanks- I hope you have a nice week as well. The bad part is that every time we plan to do anything for our anniversary, plans need to be cancelled for weather or something.

    We like New Amsterdam, too! Have not missed an episode. I hope you are not right about the crime, but it has already started now with online virus scams.

      New Amsterdam is such a good show. I hate that it seems as though the crime rate will expand, but I truly believe we are headed into dark times.

    Bummer about your trip. This virus has put a monkey wrench in so much. Trying to shelter in place and not get too antsy.
    Rain, rain, rain...but I can't complain. We needed it so badly.
    Reading Susannah's Garden by Debbie Macomber. Really enjoying a well written, light reading novel.

      I am extremely bummed and I feel the depression really starting to take a hold of me. It is raining here as well. I need sunshine, warm weather, and my camper.

 As I was looking through my posts today, I see that I have failed my readers. Many of you were aware that my other daughter was pregnant and going to deliver in July, I am sure those of you that knew are wondering why I never posted about that and I must say that life has just gotten in the way, and I thought that I had written a post. Since I know I did not, I will now! He came when Mamaw was out of town! Can you believe that? He actually had the nerve to do something so ridiculous as to come while I was at the Pink Zebra reunion (our annual conference). I was with four of my best friends when we got the announcement that he was here! I was so happy that I was able to share that news with them before anyone else. Of course, the leaders of the company were there and anxious to hear how she was doing as well.  Deliver went fairly smooth, but she was in labor for quite a while. Something is Falling From The Sky

 Yesterday and today have been very cool days here on the farm and I must say that something that we don't recognize has been falling from the sky. It is wet and seems to be hanging around. IT is certainly what the ground needed as it seems to have soaked it up almost immediately. Rain, glorious rain!! The ducks are loving their pool and the rain, but I truly don't think that they are liking the cooler temperatures so much. I know I am not. I don't mind cool, but wearing my sweatshirt in June is not fun.  The white turkeys are enjoying the coop that my husband put together for them. We have 5 of them and two others. We won't be keeping all of the toms as we have too many.  Nesting boxes made of milk crates that we had lying around work well attached to the back wall.  Here is Tom. He is such a great boy, but he likes to show off. He gets along well with the chickens.  These are my Old English chickens. I like them as they are small and will never get much bigger. I actu

Happy Homemaker Monday - 1/8/24

 Hello! Welcome to my first Happy Homemaker Monday post for 2024. I am happy to join Sandra at  Diary of A Stay At Home Mom  to participate in this series. How has everyone's Monday morning been so far? Mine is slow as most Mondays, but I will be busy later. I really need to work on my direct sales business and get my inventory done for the year. Taxes will be soon and I need that information.  The Weather: The weather is predicted to be a little unsettled this week with periods of rain and snow throughout the week. Daytime highs in the 30's and 40's, which is a bit above average with lows in the upper 20's and lower 30's. Not too bad for this time of the year. I hate the rain as it just makes the farm a muddy, sloppy mess.  Right Now I Am: Sitting at my desk listening to the news and writing this post.
