First Doctor Visit Following Surgery

Good afternoon! I am happy to report that the doctor visit - the first following surgery- went well. He says the foot looks fine and the swelling is as expected. The splint had been a real issue and he agreed to wrap the foot lighter in order to allow me to wear the walking boot, even though I am still unable to walk. Non weight bearing will be 6-8 weeks.

I am still at my daughters' house. We were able to go to my house and I was able to see one grand and my husband as well as my mom. It was nice to see them after a week. I was also able to stay in the area long enough to see my other grand after school. That was the brightest spot of the day. I cried and I am not ashamed to say that. I miss her deeply!

I miss home! I know I need to be here where I can be cared for, but I miss home. I want my bed, my chair and my couch. I miss my husband even though I talk with him daily and we are still struggling with some issues, but I have dedicated 27 years to him and I miss him. I hope another week or two and I can go home. My daughter does a great job of caring for me and I know that I am probably better off here. I have a room of my own here and I have most of what I can do here, but it just isn't the same. Home Sweet Home, I miss!

I don't care where you live or how big or small  your home is I believe that after being away, you truly miss it!

Have you ever been homesick?

Well, I have some reading to do and I need to call a couple of friends, so I will close now and see you all soon.

  3. I glad you have had a good report. My husband had his ankle fused together and it was a good year before he felt "healed." Those weeks when he could not be on his foot at all were no fun, but the knee scooter proved very useful. I hope you can graduate to using that soon.
