Happy Homemaker 2022 #1

Hello from my little corner of the world. I am still at my daughter's house recovering from surgery. I was able to see my husband yesterday and my grand doll, so I am happy. We have a dusting of snow on the ground and it is cold. Somehow though, it seems we are having warmer weather than we should have for January. I decided that I truly miss blogging like I did before and so I have decided to rejoin Sandra with The Happy Homemaker Series. If you don't know what it is, take a look at her website.

The weather.....I have already mentioned this, but it is cold and a little dusting of snow.


Right now I am....sitting at my daughter's kitchen table talking to her and writing this post 

Favorite blog post last week (mine or other)....I can't really say because I didn't read much because of surgery. I have many favorites so, it could be difficult to pick one.


Something fun to share.... Since I have been down from surgery, I don't really know what it would be. I got to see my grand doll yesterday and play with her.


Blog hopping (newly discovered blog).... I have discovered several recently. I would have to say our hopeful home is the one I am currently trying to read through older posts. 


On the menu for this week.... I truly don't know as I am not planning meals. I am recovering at my daughters' and she does the menu and cooking.


On my to do list.... read the rest of my book for the book club I am in and elevate and ice my foot. I do think that we are going to go out for a bit today.


In the craft basket....it's at home, but quilting is in it that truly needs to be done.


Looking forward to this week....hopefully, a visit from my other daughter and possibly my husband!


Looking around the house....I see my daughter working and the mess we brought in with our Pink Zebra business on Saturday.

On my prayer list..... Prayers for all who are struggling with being ill from Co-Vid 19 and healing of my foot. I also  have a friend that is dealing with the death of a family member that I am praying for. If all my praying friends could pray for the healing of my foot, I would greatly appreciate it. 


Bible verse, Devotional.... The verse of the day for The Bible Recap is Deuteronomy 6:5   and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and with all thine soul, and with all thine might.

    Glad to know you are still doing well. When do you return to the doctor for post-surgery checkup?

 As I was looking through my posts today, I see that I have failed my readers. Many of you were aware that my other daughter was pregnant and going to deliver in July, I am sure those of you that knew are wondering why I never posted about that and I must say that life has just gotten in the way, and I thought that I had written a post. Since I know I did not, I will now! He came when Mamaw was out of town! Can you believe that? He actually had the nerve to do something so ridiculous as to come while I was at the Pink Zebra reunion (our annual conference). I was with four of my best friends when we got the announcement that he was here! I was so happy that I was able to share that news with them before anyone else. Of course, the leaders of the company were there and anxious to hear how she was doing as well.  Deliver went fairly smooth, but she was in labor for quite a while. I am not sure on hours, but I think about 6 hours. There were some issues with my daughter following delivery

Something is Falling From The Sky

 Yesterday and today have been very cool days here on the farm and I must say that something that we don't recognize has been falling from the sky. It is wet and seems to be hanging around. IT is certainly what the ground needed as it seems to have soaked it up almost immediately. Rain, glorious rain!! The ducks are loving their pool and the rain, but I truly don't think that they are liking the cooler temperatures so much. I know I am not. I don't mind cool, but wearing my sweatshirt in June is not fun.  The white turkeys are enjoying the coop that my husband put together for them. We have 5 of them and two others. We won't be keeping all of the toms as we have too many.  Nesting boxes made of milk crates that we had lying around work well attached to the back wall.  Here is Tom. He is such a great boy, but he likes to show off. He gets along well with the chickens.  These are my Old English chickens. I like them as they are small and will never get much bigger. I actu

Happy Homemaker Monday - 1/8/24

 Hello! Welcome to my first Happy Homemaker Monday post for 2024. I am happy to join Sandra at  Diary of A Stay At Home Mom  to participate in this series. How has everyone's Monday morning been so far? Mine is slow as most Mondays, but I will be busy later. I really need to work on my direct sales business and get my inventory done for the year. Taxes will be soon and I need that information.  The Weather: The weather is predicted to be a little unsettled this week with periods of rain and snow throughout the week. Daytime highs in the 30's and 40's, which is a bit above average with lows in the upper 20's and lower 30's. Not too bad for this time of the year. I hate the rain as it just makes the farm a muddy, sloppy mess.  Right Now I Am: Sitting at my desk listening to the news and writing this post.
