Snow Storm #1

Our corner of the world is currently under a winter storm warning and I must say with the way it is snowing, I would not be surprised if we don't get record snowfall today and tonight. We are predicted to get an inch an hour and I would say that it is fairly accurate with the snow we have now. I know many states are struggling with the same weather and I pray that you all stay safe. Please be aware of road conditions and stay in unless you have to go out.

Our county has gone to a red travel status due to the snow and blowing conditions. Red means that only emergency personnel should be on the roads. Being that we sit on an East- West road and the wind is predicted to drift many of those closed and we are in a rural area, I am more than prepared for a long stay inside. My kids are safe and I pray that there are no emergencies within the next couple of days.  I will attempt to post photos tomorrow once the snow stops. 


We are predicted to get another snow storm on Thursday and I pray that it somehow misses us, but I don't think that it will. We are not to be above freezing until sometime Saturday or Sunday so we will certainly be inside for the next few days. I feel for the animals that can't be brought inside, but I am thankful that they have warm houses and they are feed daily and checked on daily. 

Many businesses are closed and have sent employees home in order to keep them safe and I know families are thankful for that. My soon to be son in law is a truck driver, but he is home each night and he made it home safe and he doesn't plan to go to work tomorrow. I am thankful that he is smart enough to know that roads won't be in good shape. 

This shall pass and it will just be a memory and I just pray that others are smart enough to stay safe. Sending love and prayers to each of you! God Bless until our trails meet again!

    Exactly the same here. I am hoping to get to the grocery store before the next storm on Thursday. Stay safe and warm!

      Now we are being told that the storm on Thursday may miss us.

    It's been snowing here but I don't think we got nearly as much as they had been calling for

 As I was looking through my posts today, I see that I have failed my readers. Many of you were aware that my other daughter was pregnant and going to deliver in July, I am sure those of you that knew are wondering why I never posted about that and I must say that life has just gotten in the way, and I thought that I had written a post. Since I know I did not, I will now! He came when Mamaw was out of town! Can you believe that? He actually had the nerve to do something so ridiculous as to come while I was at the Pink Zebra reunion (our annual conference). I was with four of my best friends when we got the announcement that he was here! I was so happy that I was able to share that news with them before anyone else. Of course, the leaders of the company were there and anxious to hear how she was doing as well.  Deliver went fairly smooth, but she was in labor for quite a while. Something is Falling From The Sky

 Yesterday and today have been very cool days here on the farm and I must say that something that we don't recognize has been falling from the sky. It is wet and seems to be hanging around. IT is certainly what the ground needed as it seems to have soaked it up almost immediately. Rain, glorious rain!! The ducks are loving their pool and the rain, but I truly don't think that they are liking the cooler temperatures so much. I know I am not. I don't mind cool, but wearing my sweatshirt in June is not fun.  The white turkeys are enjoying the coop that my husband put together for them. We have 5 of them and two others. We won't be keeping all of the toms as we have too many.  Nesting boxes made of milk crates that we had lying around work well attached to the back wall.  Here is Tom. Happy Homemaker Monday - Jan. 15,2024

 Good Monday morning ladies, how are you? It is super cold here, but I am thankful for our wood stove and plenty of good heat. I am joining Sandra over at  Diary of a Stay At Home Mom  for the Happy Homemaker Monday link up party. She is so kind to host this weekly and there are many of us bloggers that enjoy this weekly post.  The Weather: Cold, snowy, below zero wind chills and temperatures of a night. I believe our high for the day is to be 7 degrees F. BRR!!!!!! I hate winter when it is like this. I don't mind cold, but I don't like Artic cold. I am not a fan of the ice that occurs when we have temperatures like this.  Right Now, I Am: Sitting at my desk drinking coffee.
