Wonderful Wednesday #2

I am going to attempt to do a new type of post each Wednesday now and entitle it Wonderful Wednesday just because we all refer to Wednesday as Hump Day and I am a not a huge fan of that phrase and Wednesdays always seem to be the day that not a lot happens here so I am going to dedicate this day for a special and different type of post.

I will not always write about the same things or anything particular on Wonderful Wednesday, but I will attempt to remember to write each Wednesday. If anyone has a subject that they would like me to mention on Wonderful Wednesday, simply send me a quick message and I will do just that.

We have new piglets here on the farm!! I am super excited about them as I love watching them grow and watching the grand doll play with them. It is nice to have new life here considering we lost all of our ducks this week to a family of raccoons. I know it is their nature to kill chickens and ducks, but it had me so upset. The circle of life has came full circle this week though. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of the piglets yet, but I will share some.
This is a photo of one of the other pigs that we have had here on the farm. I think he seems very curious in this picture. Maybe he is posing. LOL!

My life has been crazy lately as my mother in law is not doing well at all. She has infection in both of her feet and she is diabetic and those are not good combinations. She is on some very strong antibiotics and they make her sick and that makes her even more miserable. We meet with a podiatrist and special surgeon tomorrow to discuss doing more debriding on the wound. I hate the thought of doing that as it is only opening a larger area to get infection into. I seriously am worried that she is not going to come out of this well at all.

Well that is about all I am going to share today. I hope everyone has a great day!

  1. I would love to have some piglets!! Don't know why they are not on the ranch! Perhaps Louis Dean and I can get some down there and care for them.
Sorry to hear about your mother in law.....I will pray for her. It's scary what diabetes can do.....

    1. Thanks Diana! Losing the ducks like I did was sad and very upsetting but I have come to understand that we can't control the habits of animals and that it happens many times on a farm.

  4. AWWww poor ducks...how sad.
I would love to see photos of the piglets and your Grand Doll too.
I love the title Wonderful Wednesday and the attitude that comes from it.
Between my Wednesday Wisdom and your Wonderful Wed. I think we have that day covered beautifully.

    1. I will be loading pictures possibly this week. I feel that we need some upbeat titles in most things these days as I find that so many negative things get reported and never the positive going on in the world.

  5. Hi Carol,
What a funny little pig! I'm so happy you have new piglets, too. I've been on farms that have piglets before, and they are so adorable. They do get rather big and bossy though!
I'm sorry about your ducks. A few years ago, all our hens were wiped out. It was heartbreaking. Now that we've moved to our postage stamp yard in town, I doubt we will have hens again. The kids are grown up, and I've lost my work force!
Thanks for your advice about my blog.
    Blessings,
    Laura

    1. Hard to have hens in town without neighbors complaining. The piglets are so much fun. We have spent quite a bit of time there.

    1. Thanks Linda, our family realizes that most of my mother in laws' health issues are her own fault, but it is still sad to see her suffer as she is.
