Another reading challenge year is finished on Good Reads, and I want to share my stats from my year in review with you. Finished the year with 21 books with 5,060 pages read. I had set my goal at 20 books, so I am excited to say that I actually hit my goal and exceeded it by a bit. I have raised my goal for 2026, by 5 books.
The shortest book that I read was a story that I read my granddoll. It was J Is for Jesus, which is an amazing story about the candy cane and the comparison of it to Jesus. It is a cute story but has so much meaning to it. I love the story and attempt to read it each year to one of the grands - sometimes more than one. It is 20 pages long, so does not take long to read, but a very important read to any child that wants to hear more about Jesus.
The longest book I read was the second book; I believe that I finished in the new year. It was a book that I received as a Christmas gift last year and I am excited to say that I really enjoyed it. Written by James Patterson and Dolly Parton, the book was a good story with some drama in it as well. It had 439 pages in it. Big difference between the shortest and the longest read.
My average book length was 240 pages. That does not seem like many pages, but as a working grandma that also cares for her grands and does many other activities, those 240 pages can seem like so many more. There are many days, I am lucky to read 5 pages a day.
The most shelved book that I read was also a children's book that I read to my granddoll. It is a well-known classic by Dr. Suess. Any ideas? It was shelved 998,540 times.
The least shelved book was one that I think came from Guideposts. It was only shelved 60 times, but I would highly recommend it if you are interested in a martyr story.
My average rating of books was 4.3. My highest rated book was with a 4.4 average. It is a book based on a true story and a young lady that I follow on Facebook. Grace Anna is an amazing young lady and reaches many people by singing.
My first book review of the year was the story about Lisa Marie Presley that her daughter, Riley had finished following her mom's death. Being Elvis Presley's daughter had to be both good and bad, and I truly believe that Lisa Marie felt both sides often.
If you are a reader, I recommend that you join the 2026 reading challenge on this site as well. Enjoy your books.
I have enjoyed reading about your books. The most surprising is that Dolly Parton co-wrote a book!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I am not a huge fan of James Patterson, but I was excited to read this and it was a good one.
DeleteCongrats on meeting your reading goal! I always love to see what others are reading and get new ideas.
