Tuesday Trinkets

As I sit here in front of my keyboard, I am frustrated as it seems that I have nothing to write about. As life is busy with the holiday preparations, it seems as though I am getting farther behind due to the weather. It has been so cold and snowy here. Our schools have been closed for three days now, and it looks as though we might have a couple more rounds of weather expected that could keep them home again this week.

Having my grand doll live with me, has changed the way that I am tackling Christmas too as I usually wrap gifts in the evening and I can't do that now. UGH! I still don't have the wrapping paper out of the attic though so it truly doesn't matter. I did not put many decorations up this year either and my house just doesn't feel that Christmas is barely over a week away.

This is our second fairly large snow this year and this round brought almost 5 inches, which is hard for me to maneuver around in following all of the surgeries I have had in the past two years on my feet. Walking in the snow and ice, as well as the frozen ground and not being able to get my foot into my snow boot make winter and snow a bit more challenging.

Do you have all of your shopping completed? As I said, I do not. A full tree is not going to happen this year as it has in the past. We will be celebrating with our son and daughter in law on Sunday and our granddaughter. We usually get each of them a gift and more for the baby. They do not like to exchange adult gifts, but I prefer them to have something under the tree.

I asked my husband last night if he intended to buy our son anything and what else we would get the baby and all I heard was we need too. I don't know if he doesn't realize just how soon Christmas is or not. LOL!!!
Well, White Christmas is on my television, so I think I will take my coffee and go watch it to help me feel better. Have a great day!

  1. Normally I am all decorated by December First - at least that's my goal. This year I will be happy if it's all done by Christmas Eve!!

  2. Oh my. Well, Christmas is not just about gifts. You will all be together and healthy. I did not know about your feet! This must affect the way your entire body feels! So what were the surgeries and how long will it take for them to heal?

    1. I have had 2 bunionectomies, 2 complete reconstructions of my left foot, and a couple of fusions on my big toe on my right foot. Each surgery has a healing time of 18 months for full heal and I have had all 5 surgeries in less than two years.
