Last Friday and Saturday, I attended the Midwest Ladies Conference at Calvary Baptist Church with my daughter, and it was so inspirational and a fun time with a fantastic bunch of ladies! The theme for the weekend was Sweet Sweet Spirit, and the decorations were all based on a restaurant in Indiana named " The Cake Bake Shop". I personally, have never been there and doubt that I would go, but it was a great inspiration for the decor at the conference.
The nursery at the church was turned into a spot to have coffee and sweet treats and they added a fancy chandelier as well as lighted trees and lots of swag. It was beautiful and I wish I would have taken a photo of it but realized when I got home that I did not. Matter of fact, I did not take many photos at all. I will share what I have though.
These were the small gift boxes that were handed out and they had some really nice stuff in them. A lip balm, a card, a bookmark just to name a few. I love the addition of the swan to the top of the box. An added little touch that seemed to make them a little more personal.
This was the main decor on the stage and looks very similar to the photo online of The
Cake Bake Shop. This was made by two members of the church and was amazing.
Another stage prop. It was not really a prop, but added decor to the stage.
Not a great photo, but this was Miss Lei. A local church member and she is from Hawaii and spoke about how her life has changed since leaning on God's will for her life and not her own. Her and her husband were separated and are back together now, serving in the church, and doing well. Let the Lord Be Magnified!
Again, not a great photo, but this was in one of the Saturday lessons and it was about how one person can reach many. One person can tell one and that message can be told to many. As each person tells someone else about the love of Christ, you have touched them as well. It all begins with one!!
Mrs. Lindsey Birt was the main speaker and let me tell you this lady will speak to you in ways that you never expect her too. Her message about letting the Lord be magnified was absolutely one of the best I have ever heard from her. Do we magnify God when we should? Did you take a breath this morning? Let the Lord Be Magnified!!
Lindsey and her husband, Jon are a traveling family with a ministry that is always honoring Christ! If your church is ever hosting a women's conference and need a speaker, Lindsey is a great one. Also, Jon and his family would be the best addition to any church service.
Jon Birt MinistriesA fun- filled, Christ- filled, love- filled weekend was needed and this one rose to the occasion!!
