Another Foot Surgery - Blessings
Hello readers! I am back. It's been a while since I connected with you here and I will say that I sure have missed you all. There is so much that has happened in life, but the most recent was another surgery on my left foot. UGH! I am happy to say that recovery has been much easier than in the past.
As many of you know, I had bunion surgery a couple of years ago, but following the surgery on my left foot, the hardware was coming loose, and it required another surgery shortly after. This was a massive reconstruction of my left foot. All seemed good for a bit other than the pain truly never went away. Finally, when it felt as though my toes were being smashed, I made another trip to the podiatrist, and he informed me that he knew we would get to this point and surgery was needed. I hesitated-seriously, number 4 on that foot alone! Why if he knew we would get to this point was it not fixed to begin with? After explaining that my risk for infection alone the last time was great and would have been extreme if we had fixed this issue, I decided that it was for the best. I agreed to surgery and asked what it consisted of.
Surgery did not consist of being non- weight bearing, which was an immediate relief to me. Second, recovery should not be as difficult as the past. (Again, Praise the Lord!) I would be in a walking boot day one and rest would be my friend. Well, I like the idea of the rest, but not the boot. However, these sounded like restrictions that I could bear for a few weeks. We made a plan and surgery was last Tuesday. Recovery has been easy and no pain!
Following the surgery, my daughter asked if he thought I would need anything else worked on and he stated that he could do nothing else as there is no untouched natural soft tissue of untouched bone in that foot. I basically have a bionic foot!!! My superpower may just be my foot! Maybe, I should create a new superhero for the kids to enjoy.
As many other changes have taken place in my life recently, I am happy to say that I feel blessed by God that I am in a place where I feel that life may settle down a bit now and I can get back to doing what I feel He wants me to do. I am thinking of starting a new blog or site that will focus on God and His many blessings in our lives. Do you know how blessed you are? Are you daily aware of the blessings God sends you? I believe that life has gotten in the way of many seeing just how blessed they are. We need to be aware of our blessings, and we need to be grateful and joyful more each day.
Events like school shootings, the death of Charlie Kirk, politics, and the crime that is portrayed on television, movies, and the news daily seem to allow our minds to wander from the blessings to what is wrong in the world. I have decided that I need a place to focus more on the blessings and the good in the world, so I want to work on something to make me focus on that more. I just thought of an idea that I may run with. Speaking with my daughters about it later, maybe a family affair!
Everyone have a good day. Comment after reading this with one blessing you have been given today!
