Well, it has taken awhile but I have finally finished the book that I got for Christmas by James Patterson and Dolly Parton. Here is the Goodreads review that I wrote.
byJames Patterson (Goodreads Author)

A story full of the mystery that James Patterson is known for and the style that Dolly is known for. Well written and a story that keeps you wondering just when all the secrets that AnnieLee keeps will suddenly come out and will she live long enough to explain any of them.
From the moment AnnieLee walks into the Cat's Paw Saloon in downtown Nashville, the past that she is desperately trying to escape from is the very past that may kill her as she starts to be a successful singer in a town that sees much talent and many want-to-be's. AnnieLee has the talent that is needed in Nashville and someone takes notice, Ruthanna Ryder.
Ruthanna is a star in her own right. The character described in the book is certainly Dolly Parton and the career she has led in her life. She welcomes AnnieLee into her home and life and tries to give her all the breaks that she needs into the music world in Nashville. What Ruthanna does not realize is that this young lady has a bad past and it might haunt her or kill her.
Ethan Balke also becomes quickly taken by the beauty and voice of AnnieLee. He has his own past that haunts him and although he does not care to relive that, he will tell AnnieLee. She can't do the same as she knows that Ethan will never accept her and probably not Ruthanna either, so it is better to leave the past in the past and in her memories.
As her career in the spotlight begins to grow, so do the dangers that she is running from. Suddenly, Ethan realizes that Annie maybe in danger as well. He doesn't immediately tell anyone, but after a scare of Annie "falling" from a fourth story hotel balcony before a huge show in Vegas, he needs to tell, and he needs to figure out exactly who is after Annie and why. Once she disappears from the hospital, he is fully aware that she is in danger and is headed home for some reason. Will he make it to her in time to save her?
After arriving in her hometown, he discovers that he may not know Annie at all as he discovers that her real name is Rose and the home, she grew up in is a home that is controlled by a man that he never cares to see again. After learning that Annie has been married to a man named Gus Dobbs and that AnnieLee is in trouble, his search for her leads him into trouble himself. He will go to the home of Gus, but what will he find? More trouble, AnnieLee (alive or dead), or secrets that he might not want to know?
