My Year In Books

I love to look at the many things I have accomplished throughout the past year and today I am totally enveloped in a book that I will finish before the end of the year. I decided to take a look at my Goodreads pages and see what my year in books looked like. Here is a link to the actual page if you'd like to take a look. Carol’s Year in Books | Goodreads

I will try to summarize it briefly here as well. I have read 17 books but will finish the year with 18 read and had a goal of 14. I have read 4,147 pages but that will change as well as I have about another 100 pages in the book that I am reading now. I will possibly finish it tonight, but by tomorrow for sure. That seems like so many pages, but it truly is not as I know many of us have read many more and I know that is not a record for me either.

My shortest and longest books are a big difference in page count and genre as you will see below.

Santa Claus! A Gift of Giving by Lake Press
Shortest Book
8
pages
Beacon of Light by Linda Byler
Longest Book
353
pages

I my average book length has been 243 pages which can sometimes seem to be way too many if I don't have a huge interest in the story that I am reading. Other times the pages seem to be almost one or two words as I can barely turn them fast enough, as with what I am reading today. The story becomes the most important aspect of the day. No other activities matter.

The Sparkle Forest is a short story written by a friend of a friend and is a really great read. I am hoping others will discover it on Goodreads and it will be shelved many times by next year. If you haven't read it, you should.

My average rating for 2024
