Amazing how busy life can get and you truly don't realize how much time has gone by until you look. I truly am amazed that July 15th was the last time I wrote on here. I am actually shocked that it has been that long. I love my blog family and friends and just can't imagine all of the wonderful things I have not shared with you.
The farm is going strong. We have added a few new animals since my last post. I will share them another day. Life has been crazy busy with summer being here and so many things to do around home and with the animals as well. We raised some tomatoes, potatoes and peppers this year and that was the short crop list this year as things are just to hectic at the moment.
COVID really threw a wrench into 2020, but I have started living life outside my home and have enjoyed a few camping trips as well as a vacation with my daughter and my grand doll and I must say that it was pleasant and so much fun! Oh the energy of a 5 year old!!!
I also must say that I enjoyed a small trip to Madison, IN yesterday and if you like quaint little towns with lots of architecture and a beautiful walk along the river, this is the place for you.
Beautiful sights like this can be seen along the river. There is a very nice walking trail here that is paved and there are several benches and swings there as well.
There is a tour of the Lanier Mansion that you can take as well. It is on the National Registry of Historical Landmarks and very pretty inside with some great architecture to see. It is only $11 for the tour.
Here I am with a couple of my friends.
Just look at this beautiful spiral staircase and the top opening. This can actually be opened to let warm air out of the house. Absolutely breathtaking.
Hope you are all doing well and I will write again soon.

Good snowy, cold Monday morning! The past week has been a challenge to so many across the United States struggling with this massive winter storm that brought artic temperatures with it. I know many have struggled to keep warm and deal with frozen pipes. Even in areas that are accustomed to snow and cold, this brutal bout of cold has been difficult. :::::The Weather:::: We have already discussed the weather, but our next few days are looking better. Tomorrow we should be above freezing for the first time since Thursday and in the mid 50's by the weekend. The weather man is saying that the warmer air is coming, but so is the rain.
Yesterday and today have been very cool days here on the farm and I must say that something that we don't recognize has been falling from the sky. It is wet and seems to be hanging around. IT is certainly what the ground needed as it seems to have soaked it up almost immediately. Rain, glorious rain!! The ducks are loving their pool and the rain, but I truly don't think that they are liking the cooler temperatures so much. I know I am not. I don't mind cool, but wearing my sweatshirt in June is not fun. The white turkeys are enjoying the coop that my husband put together for them. We have 5 of them and two others. We won't be keeping all of the toms as we have too many. Nesting boxes made of milk crates that we had lying around work well attached to the back wall. Here is Tom. He is such a great boy, but he likes to show off. He gets along well with the chickens. These are my Old English chickens. I like them as they are small and will never get much bigger. I actu
Hello! It is Thursday and I am sick again. I have some kind of infection that seems to be attacking multiple places at once. I have a UTI, swollen glands in my neck, and multiple other issues. I feel really bad and I have been sleeping a lot. I am supposed to go to a hockey game tomorrow with my daughter, son -in-law and my oldest granddaughter. I am super excited about going as I have never been to a professional hockey game. I hope to go, but we will see how I feel tomorrow. Antibiotics all day today and drinking water and cranberry juice and I hope I will feel better. I need to be busy planning my daughter's baby shower, but I am just not feeling up to it at this point. I have to get it done before we get so busy that we can't get it planned or worked into the schedule. Summer gets busy with vendor shows and all that comes with that. Well, I will leave you with a thought for today.
