What I Am Reading - The Christmas Cupcake Cafe

Issy Randall, proud owner of The Cupcake Cafe, is in love and couldn't be happier. Her new business is thriving, and she is surrounded by close friends, even if her cupcake colleagues Pearl and Caroline don't seem quite as upbeat about the upcoming season of snow and merriment. But when her boyfriend Austin is scouted for a possible move to New York, Issy is forced to face up to the prospect of a long-distance romance. And when the Christmas rush at the cafe - with its increased demand for her delectable creations - begins to take its toll, Issy has to decide what she holds most dear.

This December, Issy will have to rely on all her reserves of courage, good nature and cinnamon, to make sure everyone has a merry Christmas, one way or another...

Colder temperatures are coming later this week with hints of snow in the forecast, so I can say that books will be my best friend for the next few months. I am determined to meet my goal this year and Goodreads, and I believe I am almost there. I am at 17 books, and I set my goal for 20. I have 2 audio books that I am looking to finish this week as well. That will put me real close to my goal. I always set it lower as I know summer comes along and my reading seems to be pushed aside, and this year with 3 grands coming a week apart, I knew reading would not be as important. Next year, my goal will be higher.

Also, if I include the books I read for Mammaw's Attic, I will certainly be able to work many more books in. I have to record a video shortly for that site as well. I will post this on the blog since I want to share books there for both children and adults. My kids have always said I should read for my job as it seems to be what I love to do! I agree!!!! Anyone got an inside hook to a job like that? Even a side hustle?

I got this book at our public library when I went searching for a new Christmas story. I found many mysteries in my search. I even mentioned to my daughter that I don't usually consider a mystery story and murder in my holiday list of things to do. I am looking for the cheerful, helping others, etc. The nice things that Christmas brings to the world. (Now I do love a good mystery book, and I will read a Christmas one if I find it interesting)

A cozy fire in the fireplace, Christmas lights on, a warm cup of tea or coffee, and a good book is the perfect way to handle the cold, snowy days ahead of us!!!!
