What I Am Reading - The Christmas Cupcake Cafe

Image
Issy Randall, proud owner of The Cupcake Cafe, is in love and couldn't be happier. Her new business is thriving, and she is surrounded by close friends, even if her cupcake colleagues Pearl and Caroline don't seem quite as upbeat about the upcoming season of snow and merriment. But when her boyfriend Austin is scouted for a possible move to New York, Issy is forced to face up to the prospect of a long-distance romance. And when the Christmas rush at the cafe - with its increased demand for her delectable creations - begins to take its toll, Issy has to decide what she holds most dear. This December, Issy will have to rely on all her reserves of courage, good nature and cinnamon, to make sure everyone has a merry Christmas, one way or another... Colder temperatures are coming later this week with hints of snow in the forecast, so I can say that books will be my best friend for the next few months. I am determined to meet my goal this year and Goodreads, and I believe I am almo...

Starting a New Social Media Channel

Image
Hello! I have decided that I want to try to do some more online work and I have done a lot of thought on this and have decided that I will start a new social media presence known as Mamaw's Attic . This will be a YouTube , blog , FB , TikTok , and maybe Instagram presence and it will be where I read stories to children.  I find that I love to read and I am trying to encourage my granddaughter to read more and so I am hoping that this will help her and many others along the way. I will be posting what I will be reading and I will be daily reading a story. I am hoping that it will be a very successful venture and that it will help many kids along the way.  I don't think parents read to their children as they used to, so maybe I can catch the attention of young parents that will want someone to read to their children. I will occasionally do reviews and recommendations of good books , etc. I will be setting many different places to read, as I plan to do in coffee shops , at...

New Books on the New York Times Best Seller List - 11-14-25

Readers unite and learn what new books have made the best seller list this week.  Many readers will tell you that the New York Times Bestseller List is the list to use when it comes to choosing your next book. Many times, when I am searching for a book, I will take a look at the list and that is what led me to write this. Books come and go from this list and many last many months or even over a year, but many last just a few days or weeks.  As I was looking at the list today, I figured I would share with my readers what books are new on the list for this week. Maybe you will find just what you are looking to read from this post. I have already added some of these to my Good Reads want to read list. Let me know if you add them to your want to read list.   1. Murder At Holly House - written by Denzil Myrick         When a dead stranger is found in a Yorkshire chimney around the holidays in 1952, Inspector Frank Grasby gets assigned the case.  2. ...

November Happenings

Image
HAPPY NOVEMBER   November is a month that brings many changes to Indiana. We start to see many frosty mornings, gets dark much earlier and colder weather moves in at a much faster pace. The month brings many bright colors of leaves but also brings many leaves off the trees leading us to the darker and colder months of winter.  November brings thoughts of Christmas as we realize that the year will soon be over and Santa is on his way. November brings families together for the Thanksgiving season. Turkey, dressing, and all the fixings as well as pumpkin pies and pumpkin spice is almost more items that you could image at the stores.  November brings Veterans Day to the United States as well. A day set aside to honor all of those that have served and protected our country and given us the freedom to celebrate the holidays and worship God in our way and to publicly worship if we want. Can you imagine living in a world where you had to hide to read your Bible? I can not!  ...
