Happy Homemaker - Monday May 12, 2025

Good Morning and Happy Monday! Several bloggers will be writing and linking up to the Happy Homemaker over at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom today and I hope that you will visit and read each of the blog posts that they have taken the time to write for you. It is a special post each week that is written to share the amazing work that each lady does for her family and her home.

THE WEATHER IN MY NECK OF THE WOODS:

Finally, it looks as though we may have some warmer weather ahead of us, but with daily chances of rain.  I am thankful for the warmer weather, but tired of the rain. It looks as though we may be looking at temperatures closer to summer than spring. I won't complain as I truly do not mind. I want to be able to sit outside and spend some time enjoying nature and the world around me. These are things that make me happy being able to be outside working or just sitting around a fire, reading a book on the porch, etc.

BOOK THAT I AM READING:

I finished the Grace Anna Sings book this weekend and have started the second in the Sisters of the Heart series by Shelley Shepard Gray. This is a book based in Amish country and as my readers know, those are some of my favorites. I am really enjoying Shelley's writing and may add her to my list of favorite writers. This series is a good one to start with to read her writing. There are three books in the series - Hidden, Wanted and Forgiven.  Here is a link to purchase it from Amazon. I won't earn from that link, but I like for my readers to be aware of where this book can be purchased.

WHATS ON MY TV TODAY:

Right now, I am listening to Spidey and Friends with my granddoll. She is a huge fan of the show and watches it each morning before we start preschool. I am not a huge fan of it, but if she will watch it without any issues, it gives me 30 minutes to work on computer work to start my day. I usually clean if I am not working on here.  It's better for preschoolers than the real Spiderman that many of us know from the comic books. Isn't it amazing how much superheroes have changed over the years?

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE:

I am going to warm up a slice of cranberry pecan sourdough bread that I purchased from a local farm stand a couple of days ago. I hope it is good, although I am not a huge fan of sourdough bread. It seems that so many people are making it these days. I don't remember ever having it as a kid. Do you like sourdough? Do you make it? My daughter does often. I will probably have hot tea with it as I don't think I want more coffee today.

ON THE DINNER PLATE:

Fried chicken legs, peas, and pasta salad.

ON THE MENU:

Monday- Fried chicken legs, peas, and pasta salad

Tuesday - Beef and Noodles, Mixed veggies

Wednesday - Cheeseburgers, homemade fries, fried mushrooms

Thursday - Steak and veggies

Friday - leftovers

I will be at my daughter's house this weekend to attend the Women's conference at her church and I won't have to cook. Lunch will be provided for us, and she will have something for dinner prepped and ready. We always have such a good time, and I am really excited about attending this year.

ON MY TO DO LIST:

1. Blog post

2. Daily cleaning

3. Laundry

4. Pay bills

5. Declutter 365

6. Preschool

WHAT I'M CREATING:

I am currently working on penpal packets as I have a few new pen pals to write to, and I am hoping to find more soon. These packets are introductory packets with a few surprises in them as well. Many of the ladies are much more creative than I am, but I am enjoying making what I can.

NO WORDS NEEDED:

DEVOTIONAL, PRAYER, BIBLE VERSE:

I need to be reminded of this at times when it seems that life has me overwhelmed and anxiety has set in, God wants to give us peace if we allow it.

Have a great week!!

Comments

  1. I absolutely LOVE Amish stories! I'm a big fan of Beverly Lewis, I know everyone on earth read her books years ago but I just picked them up about a year ago and I'm in love with them! I agree that its funny how superheros have changed, my boys were watching a spiderman movie while we were at the beach last week and its SO different than what I remember.. and spiderman has so many different actors that have played him over the years I'm all sorts of confused! Haha, I hope you have a wonderful week and it was so nice to meet you! I'll be following :)
