New Pony

My husband done some trading and got a new pony this week. He is an 8 or 9 year old paint horse and has flaxen on his mane and tail. He is such a gorgeous pony and I was thrilled when I seen him even though I do not like paint horses normally. He looks like he has had highlights in his hair. He is just a really neat color with a beautiful mane and tail. I decided that I wanted him to have a really neat and cool name and "Sir Fancy Pants" came to mind. My family thinks I am crazy to name him that.

He rides fairly well, but he is a little stubborn and he is a follower. He will ride well if there is a horse in front of him or if he has someone walking beside him. However, he is scared of eveything it seems and he seems very nervous. I hope to break him a little more and teach him to ride better. I want to take him when we go to the park and ride.

If anyone has any suggestions on things that I can do to help him learn to trust me a little more, I would certainly appreciate the ideas as I believe that he has been mistreated in the past.

 As I was looking through my posts today, I see that I have failed my readers. Many of you were aware that my other daughter was pregnant and going to deliver in July, I am sure those of you that knew are wondering why I never posted about that and I must say that life has just gotten in the way, and I thought that I had written a post. Since I know I did not, I will now! He came when Mamaw was out of town! Can you believe that? He actually had the nerve to do something so ridiculous as to come while I was at the Pink Zebra reunion (our annual conference). I was with four of my best friends when we got the announcement that he was here! I was so happy that I was able to share that news with them before anyone else. Of course, the leaders of the company were there and anxious to hear how she was doing as well.  Deliver went fairly smooth, but she was in labor for quite a while. Something is Falling From The Sky

 Yesterday and today have been very cool days here on the farm and I must say that something that we don't recognize has been falling from the sky. It is wet and seems to be hanging around. IT is certainly what the ground needed as it seems to have soaked it up almost immediately. Rain, glorious rain!! The ducks are loving their pool and the rain, but I truly don't think that they are liking the cooler temperatures so much. I know I am not. I don't mind cool, but wearing my sweatshirt in June is not fun.  The white turkeys are enjoying the coop that my husband put together for them. We have 5 of them and two others. We won't be keeping all of the toms as we have too many.  Nesting boxes made of milk crates that we had lying around work well attached to the back wall.  Here is Tom. Happy Homemaker Monday - Jan. 15,2024

 Good Monday morning ladies, how are you? It is super cold here, but I am thankful for our wood stove and plenty of good heat. I am joining Sandra over at  Diary of a Stay At Home Mom  for the Happy Homemaker Monday link up party. She is so kind to host this weekly and there are many of us bloggers that enjoy this weekly post.  The Weather: Cold, snowy, below zero wind chills and temperatures of a night. I believe our high for the day is to be 7 degrees F. BRR!!!!!! I hate winter when it is like this. I don't mind cold, but I don't like Artic cold. I am not a fan of the ice that occurs when we have temperatures like this.  Right Now, I Am: Sitting at my desk drinking coffee. As I look out the window, I see a bit of snow and maybe a bit of a sunrise. It is about -18 degrees with the windchill and so it looks cold!
